Special private viewing of the Sumida Hokusai Museum

Normally, the Hokusai Museum of Art is not open for private viewing, but we are pleased to offer a private viewing early in the morning. A special space attached to the museum is available for private viewing.
The museum also offers an experience of making “Ukiyoe folding screens” with Ukiyoe as a motif.
The Ukiyo-e Byobu is a folding screen made of ukiyo-e woodblock prints. The exhibition will also introduce visitors to the folding screen culture of the Japanese way of life. At the end of the event, an Edomae Sushi chef will entertain you with an Edomae Sushi and Matcha tea experience.

Edo-mae Sushi Dining

Edomae-zushi is a traditional Japanese style of sushi, which developed during the Edo period (1603-1868). Edomae-zushi is mainly nigirizushi, which is handled quickly by a craftsman and finished with a unique technique.
